Councillors marked with an asterisk above are members of the Town Council's Planning Group. Its role is to advise the Town Council upon receipt of a planning application. Please note: It is not a decision-making group. Final decisions on all planning matters are made by South Lakeland District Council, or by The Yorkshire Dales N.P., not by the Town Council.
Kirkby Lonsdale Town Council seeks a new councillor to fill a current vacancy. Applicants must be aged 18 or over, and live either in the Parish, or within three miles of the Parish boundary.
The Town Council comprises nine member Councillors who meet monthly, in public, to determine various agenda matters and issues relating to the general well-being of the town, its residents and businesses. It is a non-political body.
Candidates should be aware of the protocol and procedures of Council matters as well as showing a willingness to diversify across the many and varied day-to-day matters undertaken by Town Councillors.
